Normal service starting to resume

It is really wonderful to now be enjoying the freedom that has come with the removal of the plate from my shoulder. I can nearly extend my arm and touch the ceiling again (without holding my breath – wife!)

One of the things that have surprised me most through this all is how quickly my fitness has faded and the amount of strength lost in the shoulder. One thing that hasn’t surprised me (rather disappointed me) is how quickly I have slipped out of the early morning habit.

If not now, when?

It’s cold! It’s dark! It’s early! Why am I awake before my alarm! The bed is so warm and the duvet is “heavy” as I begrudgingly push it off!

Plate-less and back on the wagon...

One week ago today they removed the plate from my shoulder! Despite my pleading I was not allowed to get MY plate from them! Seriously, it was mine for the last 4 months so why not?!?!

The buck stops here….tomorrow ;)

So it has been nearly a month since my last entry. Life has just gotten in the way in its usual indisputable manner, plus in a blog about my Ironman journey, there has been very little actual journey time going on…more like I’ve been treading water.

However, the good news is that the buck stops here.
